Professional activity

A.V. Zubkov was at the forefront of study of a stress field of the Earth crust upper part, that allowed him to regionalize the territory of the Northern, Middle and Southern Urals in terms of the magnitude and direction of action of tectonic stresses, the cognition of processes of their distribution in a zone of mining works. On this basis he developed a number of original methods for controlling rock pressure using its energy, on the one hand, to ensuring the stability of the mining structures, and, on the other hand, for the controlled destruction of the mountain massif. Knowledge of laws of geodynamics made it possible for A.V. Zubkov to create patent-defended highly efficient and safe systems of development for open pit and underground mining at great depths. Wideness of his knowledge and interests is indicated by the fact that he made a great contribution to the theoretical substantiation and design of a new spectrum of equipment and equipment for open and underground works. Over the 44-year period of scientific work, he greatly contributed to the creation of a national school of geomechanics (since 2000 “The Leading Russian Scientific School”), education and training of scientific personnel. In the last 13 years A.V. Zubkov is the initiator of researches, for the first time in the world he discovered the effect of action of the pulsating tectonic stresses, reaching tens of MPa, during the 11-13-year period being the main initiators of earthquakes, rock bursts in mines and destruction of constructions built in the rock massif.

The results of his studies are reflected in 183 printed works, 29 copyright certificates and patents introduced into the production with great economic effect that was noted by bronze, silver and gold medals of the Exhibition of Economic Achievements.
