Kholodnov Vladimir Vasilyevich

The well-known specialist in the field of mineralogy and petrology of granitoids, geochemistry of halogens in the processes of petrogenesis and ore formation, geology of skarn-magnetite and titanomagnetite-ilmenite deposits of the Urals.
On the results of his studies it was published about 250 scientific papers, including 5 monographs.
An important result of his researches is the study of the regime of halogens and other mineralizing elements in the processes of ore formation. He is the author of original method, making possible to characterize metallogenic specialization and in some cases, the potential ore presence of granitoid complexes according to the distribution of halogens in minerals. In recent years the conditions for the formation of  unique, on ore reserves, the Middle Riphean ilmenite and titanomagnetite deposits of the Urals western slope (Kusa-Kopan group) have been highlighted in a new way. The obtained scientific results make an important contribution to the solution of a number of problems of prior direction – the geochemistry of petro- and ore genesis processes accompanying granitoid magmatism of intracontinental folded systems, as well as to understanding the physical-chemical nature of the processes leading to the formation of ore-bearing magmas, to the theory of fluid-magmatic interaction with participation of halogen-containing fluids and others.
He is the head of a joint program of the UB RAS and the SB and FEB of RAS (project 12-С-5-1022).
