Chernykh Valery Vladimirovich

Doctor of geol.-min. sciences

Acad. A.N. Zavaritsky Institute of Geology and Geochemistry of UB RAS, Ekaterinburg, Russia

A well-known specialist in the field of Upper Paleozoic biostratigraphy. Zonal biochronological scale of the Upper Carboniferous and the Lower Permian by conodonts developed by him was recognized in our country and abroad. The boundaries of the Carboniferous and Permian systems established in this scale are accepted in the International Stratigraphic Scale and currently used in all regions of the world. The fundamental works of V.V. Chernykh on the methodology and practice of conducting zonal biostratigraphic studies are widely known.
The research results of V.V. Chernykh are presented in 6 monographs and 180 articles.
