Проведено неотектоническое районирование региона и изложены основные особенности его новейшей геодинамики. Отмечено, что коллизионные явления в новейшей геодинамике свойственны южному (Гималаи) и северному (Куньлунь, Алтынтаг и Нанынань) скатам горного сооружения, а в собственном Тибетском нагорье преобладает блоковая тектоника на фоне общего изостатического поднятия.
